MAN WITH A MISSION RETURN TO THE UK WITH ZEBRAHEAD AS PART OF 2015 EUROPEAN TOUR

In 2015 we've seen MAN WITH A MISSION make a real push on the international limelight, touring with Rise Against across Europe in June, their first ever UK festival slot, and now the wolf gang are set to make their return with four UK performances alongside Cali pop punkers and recent collaborators Zebrahead.

As well as 11 shows across Europe starting later this month, MAN WITH A MISSION will take to Glasgow, Manchester, London, and Oxford in November and will serve as the band's first UK support tour. Earlier this month they were joined by Zebrahead for their 'Out of Control Japan Tour' which included two colossal shows at Saitama Super Arena with a max cap of 36,000. Pretty big deal huh?

If you haven't checked out MWAM yet, they dropped the international version of their split EP with Zebrahead in August as well as their brand-new single 'Raise your flag' only a few days ago.

They may be on top of Japan's alt rock scene, but do the wolf headed unit have what it takes to break into the European market? Guess we'll find out later this month!

DIR EN GREY BASSIST TOSHIYA LAUNCHES STREET FASHION BRAND 'DIRT 100% NATURAL DIRTY'

Forever evolving, the members of experimental metal unit DIR EN GREY have a long history of stepping into new territories. Frontman Kyo has 'sukekiyo', guitarist Die has 'DECAYS', and now bassist Toshiya has his own fashion brand 'DIRT 100% Natural Dirty'.

Based upon new high end genderless street wear and mode styles, Toshiya officially launched his new brand and online store earlier today. Like popular UK brand LONG and Japan's monomania, DIRT sports simple, slick, and monochrome lifestyle designs.

DIRT is currently only available in Japan, but as the brand develops we may see them reach towards international markets. Failing that, there's always shopping services.

RECORIDE KEEP SYNTHPUNK ALIVE WITH NEW ALBUM 'FRESHLESS'

FOR FANS OF: POLYSICS, Devo, Shinohara Tomoe

Synthpunk may be growing old here in the UK since it's peak in the 1980s and 90s, but in Japan bands like POLYSICS and the telephones are still managing to keep it alive to this day, and with them comes a new breed of young talents attempting to rejuvenate the genre.

This is RECORIDE (レコライド), a Tokyo-based three piece that is melding the best of classic Western and Japanese electro pop/rock and bringing it up to date with a trendy makeover and new J-pop sounds. Basically if Cyndi Lauper, Devo, and Yellow Magic Orchestra had some sort of weird hybrid baby, you'd get RECORIDE. Formed in 2009 they have been making a name for themselves with frontwoman Tatta's loud Shinohara Tomoe-esque vocal stylings, Sasaki-Kissa's new wave tunes, and Hashimotte's technical shreds, as well as their break-neck punk live shows, which in 2010 took them overseas to play alongside Taiwan's electro pop rebels GO CHIC.

On July 17th the band released their 3rd LP 'FRESHLESS', their first full release in three years, which boasts some of the hottest tracks of 2015 so far, as well as a remix of 'mp3 of Stardust' from their 2012 album 'mp3 of Death Throes' by new wave group PLASTICZOOMS frontman SHO ASAKAWA.

FRESHLESS is now available from CDJapan.co.jp, and as a bonus, RECORIDE has recently started dropping their singles onto iTunes, so join the party.
