For three days every year in May Brighton becomes
Europe’s central music hub with bands from across the globe coming to
take over 35 venues across the city. As of yesterday the full line-up
for this year’s Great Escape Festival (the UK’s answer to SXSW) has been released with over 100
bands added since the last update in February.
An assortment of Japanese acts have joined the
400+ line-up for this year’s festival which kicks off on May 8th including new wave rockers Buffalo Daughter, funk duo TarO&JirO,
experimental one-man band ICHI, and award winning singer-songwriter
Mayu Wakisaka. In years gone by we’ve seen the likes of hot mess
electropop trio TRIPPPLE NIPPPLES and indie rock up and comers
[Champagne] leave their mark on the festival, now it’s time for these
four fresh-faced Brighton first timers to do the same!
Tickets are now available from
GreatEscapeFestival.com.

UPDATE: Buffalo Daughter, TarO&JirO and Mayu Wakisaka will be playing at the Queens Hotel on Saturday May 10th as part of the Japanese music showcase event JAPAN RISING. Also, free sushi!
