After appearing at ArcTanGent Festival earlier this year, Tokyo born instrumental rock unit MONO are back for a full fledge European tour starting November 18th, which will take the band across the continent including UK shows in Brighton, Leeds, Glasgow, and London.
Formed back in 1999, MONO have been at the forefront of instrumental rock scene ever since, forever manipulating and pushing the boundaries of the post-rock genre by twisting orchestral sounds and mixing them with the psychedelic to create vigorous melodies like no other.
MONO will drop their duel album releases ‘The Last Dawn’ and ‘Rays of Darkness’ in the UK on October 27th. Recorded simultaneously, but each conceptually and creatively disparate, the two are expected to take the listener on an entirely different trip, one being described as “MONO at their absolute purest”, and the other as “a jet engine taking off inside a small, crowded auditorium”.
The band’s first UK show of the tour will see them share a stage with the likes of post-punk revival act Savages, art punk legends Wire, and many more at Brighton’s Drill Festival on December 5th, a festival made to showcase some of the best groups and artists from around the globe that are breaking the confines of the rock genre. 25+ bands have already been announced for the festival which takes place from December 4th to 7th in venues across the city.
