Some of Japan’s most renowned newcomers will be making their way to the UK this July to be part of the biggest all Japanese rock event the country has ever seen at this year’s HYPER JAPAN festival.
Cooked up by the Federation Of Music Producers Japan and ad agency Dentsu, JAPAN NIGHT aims to bring Japanese music to the international stage with a series of concerts worldwide to promote some of the country’s top artists during the lead-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
JAPAN NIGHT kicked off the string of events last year at Tokyo’s National Olympic Stadium with electropop trio PERFUME, rock legends L’Arc-En-Ciel and more taking centre stage for a crowd of 120,000 people. Now it’s coming to London to take over the indigo at The O2 as part of HYPER JAPAN 2015 for two shows with VAMPS and [Alexandros] playing alongside OKAMOTO’S on Friday and Ling Tosite Sigure on the Saturday.
Promoters of the event Robomagic’s CEO Rob Hallett said in a statement, “We are proud to be chosen as the promoter of the 1st Japan Night in London and we will make sure that this will be a memorable concert for all Japanese music fans in London!”
