coldrain release new EP ‘OPTIMIZE’ via Century Media Records

Rock outfit coldrain have released their new EP ‘OPTIMIZE’, their first on Century Media Records and Sony Music Japan following their departure from long-time label Warner Music Japan.

Written by guitarist Y.K.C and vocalist Masato, mixed by Sam Guaiana, and mastered by Mike Kalajian, the five-track release runs just over 18 minutes and presents a concise, hard-hitting statement from the Nagoya-based five-piece. Its central theme, according to the band, rejects conformity in favour of imperfection and authenticity.

Featuring their recent singles ‘INCOMPLETE’, ‘CHASING SHADOWS’, and ‘FREE FALL’, ‘OPTIMIZE’ also serves as coldrain’s first worldwide EP release, their first in four years, and their shortest to date. It follows 2022’s ‘Nonnegative’ album and the 2024 single ‘Vengeance’, written for the Adult Swim anime NINJA KAMUI, which has amassed over 20 million streams across various platforms to date.
