SiM will release their new digital single ‘FiVE TiMES DEAD (by my wallet)’ on April 1st. The track lands just days before the band host DEAD POP FESTiVAL 2026 in Kawasaki.
‘FiVE TiMES DEAD (by my wallet)’ is the band’s first new material in over a year. Created with an American producer for the first time, it’s been described as a metalcore track aimed at an international audience while keeping their unpredictable style intact.
Ahead of the release, SiM have shared a short-form video project titled “We tried playing SiM’s new song ‘FiVE TiMES DEAD’ to various people!” across YouTube Shorts and TikTok, featuring reactions from BABYMETAL, THE ORAL CIGARETTES’ Takuya Yamanaka, wrestler Hiromu Takahashi, and 10-FEET’s TAKUMA.
SiM have also unveiled new artist visuals and jacket artwork, taking on the “absurd Japan” aesthetic often seen in Western media, katanas and all. The concept ties into SiM’s role as representatives of Japanese heavy music on a global stage, following their international rise in recent years and overseas appearances including a main stage slot at Download Festival in the UK last year. Frontman MAH, whose tie changes with each release, has opted for pink this time.
