tuki. has premiered the music video for ‘zero’, which pits the 17-year-old singer-songwriter, who wants to appear on camera with her face revealed, against her manager, who blocks the attempt by every means available.
The MV plays on tuki.’s long-standing visual anonymity. Since first uploading guitar performances to TikTok at 13, she has performed and appeared publicly without revealing her face, including across her record-breaking Nippon Budokan debut in February. The new video turns that premise into the joke itself, framing a behind-the-scenes tussle in which her manager intervenes at every turn to keep her off camera.
‘zero’ is tuki.’s first ever anime tie-in song, used as the opening theme for currently airing TV anime Snowball Earth, now streaming on Crunchyroll. The single was released digitally on April 4th, ahead of today’s MV drop on tuki.’s official YouTube channel.
