Visual kei band ORSEAS have unveiled the music video for their 2nd single, ‘Meisui Lacanth’. The CD dropped on March 25th, with digital distribution following on April 25th, and the music video arriving on April 28th.
‘Meisui Lacanth’ is a bouncy, gothic-tinged rock track, full of groove. The title, a possible reference to the deep-sea living fossil coelacanth, continues ORSEAS’ recurring abyssal and aquatic imagery. This is extended in the accompanying video, which places the band in a blue-lit, prison-like setting with matching aqua sea print details across each outfit. The new artist visuals were revealed alongside the MV.

Ahead of the music video, ORSEAS released a live digest video for the single’s B-side track ‘Sei sekai~shin kaishaku・THE WORLD~’ on April 22nd. The video features a photo collage of 49 visual kei musicians striking the song’s “fighting pose” choreography.
ORSEAS are due to embark upon their Japan nationwide tour in August, titled Abyssal zone〜quested of vision〜. In addition to this, the band have many other events lined up for the year, including members’ birthday shows. Their 2nd anniversary oneman show is scheduled for November 28th at Ikebukuro EDGE. The band reached the final of B7Klan’s Road to B7Klan Fest Contest at Shibuya REX, which was streamed worldwide on YouTube. They ultimately missed out on the Paris festival slot, with Musyozoku taking the win.
