About Aural Vampire
Aural Vampire officially formed in 2004, with vocalist EXO-CHIKA and “Total Sound Master” RAVEMAN. Their first album, ‘Vampire Ecstasy’, released independently on March 22nd 2004. In 2008 the band announced they had signed to Avex Trax, and following a set of three digital EPs came their 2nd album and first major, ‘ZOLTANK’, in 2010.
Overseas interest had already been growing by that point, with the band’s official biography crediting them with reaching number one among Japanese independent artists on MySpace and topping the site’s industrial and new wave charts. That reach helped them join Canadian gothic synth-rockers The Birthday Massacre on their co-headline North American tour with Black Veil Brides and Dommin later that same year.
Aural Vampire followed ‘ZOLTANK’ with the ‘Kerguelen Vortex’ EP in 2011. In 2016 they were featured on Akira Yamaoka’s curated soundtrack for the game Let It Die, alongside more than 100 other artists including VELTPUNCH, ROACH, Survive Said the Prophet, and AILIFDOPA. Their contribution, ‘LET IT DIE ~Nosaru~’, later appeared on their 2018 single ‘Ninja vs Amazones’.
They have continued to release music through YOTTABYTE over the years, remaining semi-active to this day. The band’s latest EP, ‘ZOMBIE NAOCCHATTE’, dropped on September 29th 2025.
