About monet
monet are a Japanese duo comprising Vocaloid producer and songwriter Manamu Japan (マナムジャパン) and vocalist Tasuku. Originally active as a band from 2016 to 2019, monet returned in 2024 in their current two-person form.
Their recent catalogue moves between J-pop, rock, and Japan’s voice-synthesis scene. monet frequently release parallel versions of the same song, with one sung by Tasuku and another using a synthesized singing voice, most often the Synthesizer V AI singing voice Hanakuma Chifuyu. Manamu Japan handles much of the project’s songwriting, composition, arrangement, mixing, mastering, and video production.
monet reached a wider international audience in 2026 through the Hanakuma Chifuyu version of ‘分かっちゃいないね (Wakacchainai ne)’. Released in June 2025, the song spent almost a year at relatively modest numbers before illustration-led UGC and short-form videos spread internationally. Its official music video passed 10 million YouTube views in September 2026, while the track also entered Japanese TikTok, YouTube Shorts, streaming, and emerging-song charts.
