About picco

Last updated:

picco is a Tokyo-based trackmaker, Vocaloid producer and DJ whose music turns internet culture, club sounds and bright pop instinct into what she calls “Hyper Kawaii Music”. Her tracks are built around catchy melodies and high-energy electronic production, but the sweetness is rarely one-dimensional. Across future bass, electro, hard house and fast-moving dance styles, she balances cute, colourful textures with the emotional pull of Vocaloid songwriting.

She began posting Vocaloid music in 2017 with ‘Flash’ and has since become closely associated with Japan’s modern Vocaloid electro scene, including her work through NEXTLIGHT. While Hatsune Miku remains central to her music, picco’s world has expanded far beyond one voice or format, connecting Vocaloid, J-pop, VTuber culture, and club music.

Outside her own releases, picco has written for projects including Sanrio’s Cogimyun, Bandai Namco’s DEN-ON-BU, SEGA and Colorful Palette’s Project SEKAI: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku, and Hololive’s Usada Pekora. She also wrote lyrics, composition and arrangement for Kazama Iroha’s ‘Dreamy Sky’, showing how naturally her sound can adapt to character-led music without losing its own identity.

In 2026, picco released ‘Kaleidoscope’, a 16-track collaborative album where each song appears twice, once with virtual singers and once with human singers. The record brings together producers and performers from Vocaloid, VTuber, voice actor, utaite, and internet music scenes, including Hachioji-P, D.watt, La+ Darknesss, Nanahira, Harusaruhi, KMNZ, VOLTA, and Dopam!ne.

Her international profile also grew in 2026 through Dwango-backed projects including BEYOND BORDERs and JAPAN MUSIC VOCALOID at Anime Expo 2026, where she appeared alongside kz (livetune), SatapanP, TeddyLoid, and Hachioji-P.
