With their lacklustre 5th album ‘GO’
hitting two years ago and their last UK performance nearly three, it’s
been a while since we’ve had a significant taste of what girugamesh
has to offer. But with the release of their new album ‘MONSTER’ last
November and the recent announcement of an upcoming European tour
starting in May, it seems like this four-piece unit are well on their
way to leaving their mark on the UK rock scene yet again.
2013 marked a change of direction for the band,
bringing back and evolving on the high impact sound they introduced
in their earlier albums, as well as hopping onto the bandwagon with
the addition of dubstep-esque elements to their new tracks. So far
the change has seemed to work in their favour, with their new album
receiving high praise from Japanese culture and music sites across
the globe.
Now armed with new material girugamesh will take
on Europe once again with 14 shows across the continent starting in
Ukraine on May 23rd.
