Ado has made her first appearance on the YouTube channel THE FIRST TAKE, performing her major debut song ‘Usseewa’ as part of the newly launched one-take performance project V/S THE FIRST TAKE. The session premiered on January 1st and opens the series for the new year.
For its first edition, Ado appeared alongside Phantom Siita, the four-member idol group produced by Ado herself. In her performance, Ado delivered ‘Usseewa’ in a special arrangement created exclusively for the project. Originally released in October 2020, the track became a major early hit for the singer and remains her most widely viewed song, with close to 400 million views on YouTube alone.
In keeping with her long-standing commitment to anonymity, Ado appeared on the series in silhouette. The singer, who emerged from Japan’s utaite scene, has kept her face entirely out of the public eye throughout her career, including during large-scale live performances in front of audiences worldwide.
Ado comment:
“This time, Phantom Siita and I, Ado, were honored to appear on THE FIRST TAKE, and since it is truly a one-shot performance, I was extremely nervous. However, precisely because of this tension, I believe we were able to deliver a performance that was different from our usual live shows.”
Phantom Siita also took part in the session, performing a four-song medley of ‘Utakata Lullaby’ and ‘Readymade’, both originally performed by Ado, alongside their own songs ‘Kimi to ×××× Shitai Dake’ and ‘Otomodachi’.
