Ado has digitally released her new song ‘Love me forever!’, featured in the newly launched Nintendo Switch title Rhythm Heaven Groove, known in Japan as Rhythm Heaven: Miracle Stars. The track was written and composed especially for her by Tsunku♂, with arrangement by Shouichirou Hirata.
The track brings together one of Japan’s biggest contemporary vocalists with Tsunku♂, one of the most influential figures in Japanese pop. Best known as the producer behind Morning Musume and the wider Hello! Project, he has also written and produced the Rhythm Heaven series since its debut in 2006. Nintendo’s Rhythm Heaven team created the cover illustration.
Arriving a day after the game itself, which launched on July 2nd, the song is Rhythm Heaven‘s first new entry in over a decade, following 2016’s Rhythm Heaven Megamix. Ado has long spoken publicly about her love for the series, and her participation in the title fulfils a long-held wish.

Tsunku♂ has explained that the collaboration was sparked by Ado’s cover of MM Gakuen Gasshoubu’s ‘Mecha Mote I LOVE YOU’, which she uploaded to YouTube in 2021. He originally wrote and composed that song under the name Nijukyu Sensei, a light music club advisor persona.
Ado, for her part, said fans can now play along with her singing inside the game, and that she cannot wait to spend plenty of time playing Rhythm Heaven herself.

I had been thinking, “It would be fun if Ado sang in Rhythm Heaven“. About five years ago, I saw that she had sung ‘Mecha Mote I LOVE YOU’ and uploaded it to YouTube, and ever since then, I had hoped that we might work together someday.
When producing Rhythm Heaven: Miracle Stars, we had planned to include “songs with vocals”, but this is a series that has always valued the joy of creating rhythms above name recognition. So this time, we approached her with a completely open mind and asked, “Ado, would you be interested in singing for Rhythm Heaven!?”. Her answer was that she wanted to participate. The entire staff was deeply moved.
However, that was when things became truly difficult. What kind of song would be quintessentially Rhythm Heaven and right for Ado to sing? I agonised over it for six months… no, perhaps nearly a year. The turning point came when I saw Ado perform live in Hawaii. Immersed in her singing voice, I realised “how the voice known as Ado should exist within this two-dimensional world”.
What emerged from that realisation was ‘Love me forever!’. I want to be free. But I do not want to be left alone. I poured into this song a cry filled with that kind of loneliness, conflict, and hope.
