Awich, JP THE WAVY, f5ve, and PSYCHIC FEVER set for J-pop and hip-hop showcase ennichi ’25 in Los Angeles

Following its March debut with matsuri ’25, the MUSIC WAY PROJECT, a joint venture between CEIPA and TOYOTA GROUP, returns to Los Angeles on Tuesday, December 2nd with ennichi ’25 Japanese Music Experience LA, a cultural showcase combining J-pop, hip-hop, street food, and a traditional festival atmosphere at Aurora Warehouse.

The latest announcement reveals that Awich and JP THE WAVY will join previously revealed acts f5ve and PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE. All four artists will take the stage for a live showcase that aims to present a cross-section of Japan’s current music scene to local audiences and industry professionals.

Awich

Awich, the most globally minded representative for Japan’s hip-hop scene, continues to broaden her international reach following her 2023 arena debut at K-Arena Yokohama. The Okinawa-born artist, who debuted with Asia Wish Child in 2007, channels her life and cross-cultural perspective into introspective, globally minded hip-hop. In 2025, she curated and performed at New York’s SummerStage with Japan Champloo in the Park, a showcase highlighting contemporary Japanese hip-hop artists including JP THE WAVY, OZworld, BIGYUKI, and U-LEE, and released ‘Butcher Shop’ featuring FERG, produced by Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, ahead of her forthcoming album.

I’ve been on a journey from Okinawa — the island where I was born — to share my spirit through music across Japan and out into the world. Being part of Ennichi, an event that brings the world a glimpse of Japan, feels like a real milestone for me, and I’m truly honored. Hip-hop was born in America and came to Japan — I want people everywhere to feel how it’s grown here, how deep, powerful, and fresh it’s become through my performance. I believe this event will be one of those moments that puts “the sound of Asia” on the map.

JP THE WAVY

JP THE WAVY, who first broke out in 2017 with ‘Cho Wavy De Gomenne’, will also take to the stage. Known for his stylistic versatility and frequent international collaborations, the rapper has performed at Rolling Loud Thailand, contributed to the Fast & Furious 9 soundtrack, and launched the cross-discipline project MNNK Bro. with Takashi Murakami.

Throughout my career based in Japan, I’ve received so many messages from fans all around the world, and I’m really excited that I finally get the chance to feel that energy in person. I want to make this stage a bridge between Japan and LA — between our cultures. Come experience the world of WAVY for yourself.

f5ve

They join f5ve, the LDH and Three Six Zero–formed girl group whose debut album ‘SEQUENCE 01’ has drawn international attention for its futuristic pop sound and production from BloodPop, A. G. Cook, and Hudson Mohawke. Originally debuting as SG5 in collaboration with the Sailor Moon franchise before rebranding in 2024, members Sayaka, Kaede, Ruri, Miyuu, and Rui have been turning heads with their experimental take on J-pop that combine Tokyo subculture with global pop sensibilities.

We are truly honored to take the stage as f5ve at “ennichi ’25 Japanese Music Experience LA”, an event we had the pleasure of attending earlier this March!

We’re genuinely excited to share our music with everyone who loves J-pop and Japanese culture!

We are proud that an event celebrating J-pop can take place here in Los Angeles, so far from Japan.

Let’s make it an unforgettable night, LA! :))

PSYCHIC FEVER

Meanwhile, PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE continue to build global momentum after signing with Warner Music Group and completing their first U.S. tour earlier this year. The seven-member group, whose viral hit ‘Just Like Dat feat. JP THE WAVY’ has surpassed 200 million views on TikTok, have established themselves as one of LDH’s most internationally active acts.

We’re truly honored to be performing at “ennichi ’25 Japanese Music Experience LA”.

Since our debut in July 2022, we’ve been building our path step by step, starting from Japan, expanding across Thailand and Southeast Asia, then reaching the United States and Europe. Earlier this year, we completed our very first US tour across six cities.

Just as the vision behind the “MUSIC WAY PROJECT” encourages challenging the world from Japan and forging new paths, we too are still somewhere along that journey. But at this moment, we’re determined to accelerate our momentum even further.

From Los Angeles to the world with the slogan “Japanese music drives the world.”

We hope many people will feel the power of that message through PSYCHIC FEVER’s performance.

On the day of the event, we’ll step on stage with pride, representing Japan, and we promise to deliver our best performance yet. We’re truly excited to share this special moment with all of you.

The showcase is part of CEIPA and TOYOTA GROUP’s broader MUSIC WAY PROJECT initiative, designed to connect Japanese artists with global audiences through live performance and industry outreach. The day before the concert, an invitation-only panel event titled ennichi ’25 Japanese Music Industry Mixer will be held at JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles in collaboration with JETRO, with discussion focused on cross-border music production between Japan and the U.S.

Alongside the music, attendees will be able to sample Japanese street food from vendors including Tsukiji Gindaco, Soma Suisan, UMACHA, and Tenka Tori, with pre-show festival games such as yo-yo fishing and super ball scooping also on offer to round out the event’s ennichi-style atmosphere.
