LiSA brought her first Europe and UK tour to a close at London’s Troxy on September 22nd, capping four sold-out nights in Milan, Düsseldorf, Paris, and London. It was her first UK show and the last of 16 dates on LiVE is Smile Always~15~, her 15th-anniversary tour, which drew around 100,000 people across nine countries and regions.

The first fans had been outside the Troxy since mid-morning, some of them flown in from Japan and Hong Kong to follow the tour from city to city. Two giant inflatable strawberries flanked the stage as LiSA’s band walked on at 8.35pm, ten minutes ahead of schedule. She followed them out for ‘DECOTORA15’ from April’s album ‘LACE UP’ and went straight into ‘Datte Atashi no Hero.’ and ‘Catch the Moment’ before stopping to introduce herself to London.
Straight after ‘oath sign’, LiSA changed outfits in full view of the crowd, peeling off a layer to reveal a short white dress before strapping on an acoustic guitar for ‘SWEET MAGIC’. Her cover of the Sailor Moon theme ‘Moonlight Densetsu’ came next, then a ‘DOCTOR’ interlude saw her scour the crowd for a fan, who was led up by a doctor and nurse in costume and given a seat beside her for the song.

A second onstage change put her in a kimono for the Demon Slayer trio of ‘Akeboshi’, ‘Zankokuna Yoru ni Kagayake’, and ‘Homura’, the Mugen Train theme that won her the Japan Record Award in 2020. She then switched to a long white dress for ‘HELLO WORLD’, again on acoustic guitar.
In London she sang “Hello London” in place of the title line, a moment fans were still posting about days later. The song’s writer, Yasuha Kominami, said that seeing the singalong fill the Troxy left her overwhelmed.

After one more costume break came ‘Black Box’ and ‘REALiZE’, her theme for the Japanese release of Across the Spider-Verse, then a closing stretch of ‘QUEEN’, ‘ADAMAS’, ‘ReawakeR’, and ‘Gurenge’. ‘ReawakeR’, her Solo Leveling collaboration with Stray Kids’ Felix, had topped Billboard Japan’s chart of Japanese songs in the UK for six straight weeks last year, and Germany’s for ten.
The encore opened with ‘Azuki Arai’, then ‘PATCH WALK’ with its lyrics translated into English on the screen. For ‘crossing field’, the 2012 Sword Art Online theme that made her name overseas, LiSA left the stage and sang her way through the standing crowd, then climbed up to the circle to high-five fans in the seats. The screen followed her the whole way, with the lyrics in romaji so the room could sing along.
The band had already posed for their photo with the crowd when London got something no other city did. With the curfew closing in and the crew watching from the back of the stage, LiSA answered a second round of encore calls.
She teased a cappella snippets of ‘Homura’, ‘Gurenge’, ‘crossing field’, and ‘Ichiban no Takaramono’, which she recorded as the singing voice of Yui in Angel Beats! a year before her solo debut. She then closed the tour for good with one last ‘Gurenge’, cut to the length of the anime’s opening, before band introductions and a goodbye wrapped up a night that had stretched past two hours.

Counting her ‘Moonlight Densetsu’ cover, 13 of the 20 songs in the European set were anime themes, and Demon Slayer and Sword Art Online alone accounted for seven. Nine of the 20 were among the 18 Billboard Japan Hot 100 top-ten hits she had to her name by April, No. 1s ‘Homura’ and ‘Akeboshi’ among them.
The set also carried seven of her ten most-streamed songs on Spotify, including the top five, which have almost 1.3 billion plays between them. ‘Gurenge’ leads at more than 580 million, and in 2020 it was Spotify’s most-streamed song by a Japanese artist outside Japan, the same year LiSA topped the list for artists.
The European leg packed four countries into eight days, and each show was LiSA’s first concert in that country. Paris added a moment of its own when the crowd broke into the ‘Seven Nation Army’ chant and guitarist PABLO picked up the riff, turning it into a joke the band kept coming back to for the rest of the night.
The anniversary tour had opened at Nippon Budokan in April before heading to Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Seoul over the summer, averaging just over 6000 people a night.

About LiSA
LiSA is a Japanese singer from Gifu who first reached a national audience in 2010, when she was selected to perform the singing parts for Yui, the second vocalist of fictional band Girls Dead Monster in the anime Angel Beats!. After releasing music and touring as Girls Dead Monster starring LiSA, she made her solo debut on April 20th 2011 with the mini-album 'Letters to U'. Her first single, 'oath sign', followed that November as the opening theme for Fate/Zero, while 2012's 'crossing field' became the opening theme for Sword Art Online. Her live career developed alongside those anime releases, with her 'LiVE is Smile Always' series going from Shibuya O-EAST in 2011 to venues including Nippon Budokan, Makuhari Messe, and Yokohama Arena, while LiSA also became a regular presence at rock festivals including ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL, RADIO CRAZY, and SUMMER SONIC. In 2019, 'Gurenge', the opening theme for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, became a long-running commercial hit, and LiSA made her first appearance at NHK's Kōhaku Uta Gassen that December. In July 2020, 'Gurenge' became the first track by a female artist to exceed one million downloads on Oricon's digital singles ranking. That October, 'Homura', the theme for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, and her fifth original album 'LEO-NiNE' simultaneously debuted at number one on Oricon's weekly single and album charts. 'Homura' went on to win the Japan Record Award at the 62nd Japan Record Awards in December 2020. LiSA returned to Demon Slayer in 2021 with 'Akeboshi', the opening theme for the television version of the Mugen Train Arc, before recording 'REALiZE' for the Japanese dub of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in 2023. Her 2024 releases included 'Shouted Serenade' for the third season of The Irregular at Magic High School, 'Black Box' for the second cour of NieR:Automata Ver1.1a, and 'QUEEN' for the first cour of Shangri-La Frontier season two. In 2025, 'ReawakeR', featuring Felix of Stray Kids, opened Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-, while Yuki Kajiura wrote, composed, and arranged 'Zankoku na Yoru ni Kagayake', one of the two theme songs for the first Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle film. The same year, LiSA played her first North American headline tour, with five shows across New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico City. LiSA marked 15 years since her solo debut in 2026 with seventh original album 'LACE UP', released on 15 April. Her anniversary programme has included the six-date 'LiVE is Smile Always ~15~' arena tour in Japan, followed by shows in Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Seoul, and her first Europe and UK tour, with dates in Milan, Düsseldorf, Paris, and London. A nationwide Japanese tour under the 'LiVE is Smile Always ~LACE UP~' name begins in October 2026 and runs through January 2027.
