About the venue
O2 Academy Islington is a live music venue in Angel Central, close to Angel Underground station in north London. The venue opened on 19 September 2003 with a performance by Alkaline Trio and presents concerts by established and emerging artists as well as club nights. It is particularly associated with rock and metal shows. Its main auditorium has an 800-person capacity and should not be confused with the smaller O2 Academy2 Islington at the same complex.
