“We are Japanese very cute and sexy girl band” states frontwoman Accorinrin as they prepared to lay another punchy distorted rock tune on an already buzzing London crowd. Named after a love hotel in Osaka of the same name, Otoboke Beaver are the latest in Japan’s mould breaking all girl units to take to our shores, and, like their label sisters Shonen Knife, they could just have enough moxie to become a welcomed commodity on the UK tour circuit.
Teaming up with London club night Japan Underground and label Damnably for a night of top notch UK and JP rock (and chip tune hip hop) the girls were joined with support from the capital’s own The Johns, Tokyo duo Hibari, and Barnsley troop Bruja.
