GACKT has confirmed the next chapter of YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz with the announcement of the ～WORLD TOUR ATTACK OF YFCZ～, the band’s first international tour since 2011’s WORLD TOUR ‘SHOW UR SOUL.I’.
The tour begins on January 18th, 2026, with a one-night-only show at KT Zepp Yokohama, before heading overseas to Shanghai, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile in the following weeks. Now rebranded as GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz, the new incarnation represents what GACKT has described as an “evolved version” of the band.
In a video message released on his official channel, GACKT spoke about the long delay and his motivation to restart YFCz on a global scale.
“I originally planned to start the world tour much earlier, but because of COVID and my health issues, it was delayed. Now, I can finally move forward to keep the promise I made to fans waiting all over the world. In these 15 years, both music and society have changed dramatically, and that’s why I feel the need to deliver the YFCz of today.”
Discussing the new lineup, GACKT said:
“The new members are all young, but their performance skills far surpass those of the past members. The explosive power that is born on stage is on a whole different level. Experience the shock of the reborn YFCz.”
This world tour follows the surprise revival of YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz announced in August 2024, 12 years after their disbandment. GACKT confirmed that the project had returned for a limited five-year run, debuting its new era at Kishidan Banpaku 2024 before headlining two nights at Zepp Haneda on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Formed in 2010 as an offshoot of GACKT’s solo work, YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz began as a tongue-in-cheek challenge to what he saw as Japan’s “herbivore” culture, debuting with a men-only concert aimed at reviving masculine spirit. The band later expanded its concept with women-only swimsuit shows and two European tours between 2010 and 2011, performing in cities such as London, Paris, and Berlin. The original lineup featured Jon, You, Chachamaru, Takumi, U:zo (RIZE), and Shinya (LUNA SEA) before disbanding in 2012.
While only a handful of dates have been announced so far, additional stops on the WORLD TOUR ATTACK OF YFCz are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
