Tokyo instrumental post-rock band toe have announced a run of UK and European dates for spring 2026, taking their 25th anniversary shows overseas. Titled UK & EUROPE TOUR 2026 “LONELINESS WILL SHINE” – 25TH ANNIVERSARY LIVE –, the tour will span eight shows across six countries and marks the band’s first European run in ten years.
Opening on April 10th in Bristol, the schedule moves through London and Glasgow before continuing to Haarlem, Paris, Antwerp and Copenhagen, with a final date in Berlin on April 20th. UK appearances from toe have been scarce, limited to a sold-out London show at XOYO in 2013 and an ArcTanGent Festival appearance in 2016.
These dates arrive as part of a wider 25th anniversary celebration for the band, following a sold-out in-the-round concert at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan in October, and the release of their fourth studio album, ‘NOW I SEE THE LIGHT’, in 2024.
‘LONELINESS WILL SHINE’, the opening track from ‘NOW I SEE THE LIGHT’, lends its name to the tour and also opened toe’s recent anniversary show. That performance spoke to the live reputation the band have built over a quarter of a century, shaped by rhythmic detail and a fluid approach to genre that has kept them influential within math-rock circles across the globe.
