SCANDAL’s 12th studio album ‘ECHO’ drops digitally worldwide on May 27th 2026, with three English-friendly physical editions following through JPU Records on June 26th. The release lands in the band’s 20th anniversary year and precedes their fourth one-man show at Osaka-jo Hall, SCANDAL 20th Anniversary Live “Chapter 20”, on August 21st, the date of their formation in 2006.
The nine-track album pulls in recent digital single ‘Girl is Ghost’ and April pre-release ‘Strawberry’. Drummer RINA takes lyric credit on ‘Heaven’ and bassist TOMOMI writes ‘Stay Holy’, with the rest of the album handled by outside writers including Hidenori Tanaka, Kai Kubota, and SATORI shiraishi.
JPU Records’ three international editions mirror the Japanese regular and two limited editions but swap the Blu-ray content for region-free video on demand. The standard CD includes a booklet with English lyric translations and romaji transliterations. Limited Edition A adds streaming access to SCANDAL 19th Anniversary Live “Midsummer Killer Tune Festival”, the 14-song Namba Hatch show recorded on August 21st 2025, with English subtitles across every spoken segment. Limited Edition B pairs the CD with “her” Magazine Vol. 5, a 68-page publication translated into English for the first time and carrying exclusive photography, member interviews and track-by-track commentary.
A Japan-only Blu-ray + GOODS Limited Edition adds a 70-minute documentary, SCANDAL DOCUMENTARY “her” Diary 2025-2026 SPECIAL EDITION, plus an ECHO tumbler and a five-piece photo set.
SCANDAL tour the album at home from June 9th to 19th on SCANDAL TOUR 2026 “ECHO”, hitting Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka before the Osaka-jo Hall anniversary show in August. A preview clip of album track ‘A.M.D.K.J.’ from Limited Edition B is on YouTube now.
