Number_i sign with Atlantic Records ahead of major U.S. push

Boy group Number_i have announced a label deal with Atlantic Records, securing American major-label backing for their next phase of international expansion. The signing positions the group, made up of Sho Hirano, Yuta Jinguji, and Yuta Kishi, for global releases and a full-scale worldwide rollout.

Atlantic Records is a flagship imprint of Warner Music Group, with a roster spanning Aretha Franklin and Led Zeppelin through to current global stars including Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, and Rosé.

The group recently visited Atlantic’s Los Angeles headquarters and have already begun recording new material in the U.S., set for release later this year.

“We’re excited to announce that we’ve signed with Atlantic Records in the U.S.”, the group said in a comment. “We’re really looking forward to expanding our sound and reach with the team. We’ll continue working hard to bring our music to as many people as possible, and we truly appreciate your continued support”.

The Atlantic deal follows Number_i’s February announcement of a representation agreement with WME, the world’s largest talent agency. With both pieces now in place, the framework is set for the trio’s worldwide activities going forward. TOBE, the Japanese agency where the group is based, continues to manage Number_i out of Japan.

Number_i debuted in 2024 and have built significant momentum since. Their first U.S. performance came that same year as part of 88Rising’s Futures stage at Coachella, followed by a featured set at 88Rising’s Head in the Clouds Festival at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Their debut album ‘No.I’ topped the Billboard Japan JP Albums chart and reached No. 4 on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global chart, while recent single ‘3XL’ returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 on the chart dated May 6th, following its chart-topping February debut.
