Number_i have released ‘REBON / BUGS LIFE / DIGITAL GIRL’, a six-track digital EP out now via Atlantic Records. It arrives with a visualiser for new single ‘DIGITAL GIRL’, a track the trio began working on in Los Angeles during their trip to the US this spring.
‘DIGITAL GIRL’ satirises digital society while holding on to a belief in real love. Its visualiser, directed by US-based music video director JMP, places Sho Hirano, Yuta Jinguji, and Yuta Kishi in a series of VFX environments inspired by Y2K-era digital trends.
‘REBON’ follows 2024’s ‘BON’, presenting an updated Number_i and their ambition to take on the world.
Yuta Jinguji produced ‘BUGS LIFE’, which arrived digitally via Atlantic Records on July 13th as Number_i’s first release through the label. Work on the song started from the question of what digital actually means, and its lyrics compare the string of coincidences that brought Number_i to where they are now to a momentary bug in a system.
‘BUGS LIFE’ entered the Billboard Japan Hot 100 at number one on the chart published July 22nd, also topping the Download Songs chart with 56,366 first-week downloads. It became Number_i’s sixth Hot 100 chart-topper and their eighth week at number one overall.
Number_i signed a US label deal with Atlantic Records in May, following a worldwide representation deal with WME in February. The trio began working on new music in the US after visiting Atlantic’s Los Angeles offices in the spring, while TOBE continues to handle the group’s management.

About Number_i
Number_i are a Japanese dance and vocal trio made up of Sho Hirano, Yuta Jinguji, and Yuta Kishi. All three left King & Prince in May 2023, and the group's formation under TOBE was announced on October 15th, 2023. Kishi came up with the name, which pairs the goal of becoming number one with the idea of being "only one", while the "i" also stands for "ai" ("love") and the group's wish to move forward together with their supporters. Their music draws on hip-hop, R&B, bass-heavy electronic production, and pop, with the members regularly taking producer roles on their own songs. Debut single 'GOAT' arrived on January 1st, 2024, entering the Billboard Japan Hot 100 at number one and later becoming their first song to pass 100 million cumulative streams in Billboard Japan's chart data. In April 2024, the group made their US live debut on 88rising's Futures stage at Coachella. First mini-album 'No.O -ring-' followed in May 2024, led by the Hirano-produced 'BON', and finished the year at number one on Billboard Japan's year-end Download Albums chart. First full-length album 'No.I' came out in September 2024, topping Billboard Japan's Hot Albums chart and entering Spotify's Top Albums Debut Global chart at number four. Kishi-produced 'GOD_i' reached number one on the Hot 100 in February 2025, and that May Number_i returned to the US for 88rising's Head in the Clouds festival at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Second album 'No.II', which included Hot 100 number one 'U.M.A.', topped the Hot Albums chart after its September 2025 release, and the trio toured it across Japanese arenas from October to December that year. In February 2026, Number_i signed with WME for worldwide representation, followed in May by a US label deal with Atlantic Records, with TOBE continuing to manage the group in Japan. Hirano-produced '3XL' and Jinguji-produced 'BUGS LIFE' both topped the Billboard Japan Hot 100 during 2026. 'BUGS LIFE' then became one of three lead tracks on fourth single 'REBON / BUGS LIFE / DIGITAL GIRL', released on September 23rd, 2026 as their first CD single since signing with Atlantic Records. The release also included a sequel to 'BON' and 'DIGITAL GIRL', which the trio started developing in Los Angeles during a spring 2026 trip to the US. Number_i's first world tour, announced in August 2026, opens with Number_i LIVE TOUR No.III, a five-dome Japanese leg running from October 2026 to January 2027, with dates across Asia and North America planned for 2027.
