Visual kei rockers XANVALA bring back their undead alter-egos ZOMVALA, ready for spooky season, with their latest music video, ‘UNDEAD is BACK’. The video dropped on September 19th, with a special single confirmed for October, but an exact release date or streaming release has yet to be confirmed.
‘UNDEAD is BACK’ is a perfect track to ease you into the Halloween cheer, starting with vocalist Tatsumi asking “Trick or treat?”. The track features XANVALA’s up-tempo pounding rock with a haunting twist, eerie noises floating through the track, and the declaration of “Undead is back!”.
Its video, produced by Crap Dolly, sees the band literally rise from the grave, looking both beautiful and grotesque. As a couple enters a haunted abode, the band watch on, awaiting their chance to give them a fright and gain some new fans with their performance.
XANVALA will head out on their Japan Halloween tour, ZOMVALA 2026, starting on October 24th at HOLIDAY NEXT Nagoya. They’ll then head to Umeda Zeela on October 25th, culminating in a sold out show at Shibuya’s Kinmirai Kaikan on October 31st, Halloween night.
The band will also hit the road for their Japan nationwide tour CRITICAL, starting on November 7th at Kobe VARIT., before stops at Kyoto, Hokkaido, Nagano, Gunma, Kagawa, Okayama, Iwate, Miyagi, Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Osaka. Tickets for the available ZOMVALA shows and the CRITICAL tour are available now via eplus (Japan only).
Ahead of the tours, XANVALA will hold their own festival, VASALA FEST.2026 on October 2nd at Kawasaki’s CLUB CITTA’. The 1-day festival features a lineup of JILUKA, NICOLAS, CODOMO DRAGON, BugLug, Arlequin, RAZOR, and Matenrou Opera, with XANVALA headlining. Tickets are available now through eplus (Japan only).

About XANVALA
XANVALA are a Tokyo visual kei rock band formed in January 2020 by Tatsumi (vocals), Yuhma (guitar), Souma (guitar), 70. (bass), and Tomoya (drums). Their name is pronounced "zanbala" and comes from the Japanese term for dishevelled hair, tying into the band's concept "midareru koto wa utsukushii" ("to be dishevelled is beautiful"). They officially began activities with the one-man show WARNING COLOURATION -警告色と下極上- at Ikebukuro BlackHole on January 30th, 2020. The instrumental members all contribute as composers, while Tatsumi is the band's principal lyricist. XANVALA's catalogue has expanded through the 2020 collection 'Rikujusou' (陸重奏), the 2021 EP 'Gayoku no Maku' (我慾之幕), albums 'Tsuki to Taiyou' (月と太陽) in 2022, 'NIX' in 2023, and 'BANQUET' in 2024, followed by the 'ANCHOR - EP' and 'INDRA - EP' in 2025. Their nationwide touring grew alongside those releases, with the 2024-2025 Ark campaign ending at EX THEATER ROPPONGI and their sixth-anniversary ROLL THE DICE tour concluding at Yebisu The Garden Hall on February 1st, 2026. The band have also developed their own live projects outside conventional tours.
