GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz will return to Latin America in September 2027, revisiting Brazil, Chile, and Mexico, and playing Argentina for the first time. The GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz LATAM TOUR 2027: BACK TO LATAM was announced this weekend, less than eight months after the band’s first tour of the region.
GACKT followed the announcement with a message to fans on X (formerly Twitter), posted in Japanese, Spanish, and Portuguese:
“LOVERS of Latin America, you didn’t really think it all ended with last year’s shows, did you? We’ve got a date to go wild together again.
And to the LOVERS of Argentina. I’ve kept you waiting. This time, I’m coming to you too. Get ready to go wild, and wait for me.”
That first tour came in February 2026 as the Latin American leg of WORLD TOUR ATTACK OF YFCz, the band’s first world tour in 15 years. It was also GACKT’s first tour of the region, opening at Mexico City’s Circo Volador on February 5th.
His first show in Brazil followed on February 7th, selling out all 1000 tickets at São Paulo’s Carioca Club. In Santiago on February 9th, more than 5000 people filled a sold-out Teatro Caupolicán for his first concert in Chile.
When he announced the world tour in October 2025, GACKT said COVID and his health had delayed it, adding, “Now, I can finally move forward to keep the promise I made to fans waiting all over the world”.
After Latin America, the tour continued to Seoul and Hong Kong, while a planned January show in Shanghai had already been postponed on force majeure grounds and did not go ahead. By the time it closed in June, the tour had covered six cities and around 45,000 kilometres.
Guitarists MiA, HIROTO, and TAKATORA, bassist DAICHI, and drummer HIDEHIRO backed GACKT in 2026, with TAKATORA joining ahead of the tour. No line-up has been announced for 2027, which falls within the limited five-year revival GACKT announced in July 2024, 12 years after YFCz disbanded.
Despite the world tour billing, 2026 did not take GACKT to Europe or North America. His last European concerts came on YFCz’s 2011 tour, which played London’s Forum that July and ended in Moscow in August. North America has not seen him perform since 2007, when he fronted S.K.I.N. with YOSHIKI, SUGIZO, and MIYAVI at Anime Expo in Long Beach, California.
Latin America had also been waiting longer than it looks. In 2011, YFCz announced plans for South American dates in January 2012 and North American shows the following month, but disbanded that July without playing either. With Latin America already booked again and the five-year revival due to end in 2029, several regions are still missing from the band’s touring map.
The tour takes place in September 2027, with cities, dates, venues, and ticket prices to be announced. Tickets go on sale on October 10th 2026.

YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz are the rock band GACKT formed in March 2010 with the stated aim of turning Japan's so-called herbivore men into carnivores. Known as YFCz, they debuted at a men-only show at Kawasaki's CLUB CITTA' on March 21st 2010, and later staged swimsuit-only concerts. Their first Japan tour, in summer 2010, took in 24 shows across six cities, and that July they played five dates in the UK, France, Spain, and Germany. In June 2011, the band expanded into a seven-piece with twin vocals and three guitars. GACKT and fade's JON shared vocals, with YOU, CHACHAMARU, and TAKUMI on guitar, former RIZE member u:zo on bass, and LUNA SEA's SHINYA on drums. Later that year, the world tour SHOW UR SOUL.I took YFCz through nine European countries before a Japan leg. During the Makuhari Messe stop, a charity photo exhibition and auction of the members' personal items raised ¥3,571,929 for recovery after the Great East Japan Earthquake through GACKT's SHOW YOUR HEART fund. Their debut single 'THE END OF THE DAY', used as the second theme song for the Japanese version of online RPG Dragon Nest, arrived in September 2011, followed by 'ALL MY LOVE / YOU ARE THE REASON' that December and their only studio album, 'YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz I', in March 2012. The band disbanded after a Nippon Budokan concert on July 4th 2012. GACKT revived the band in July 2024 as GACKT YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz, for five years only. A new line-up of guitarists YOHIO, MiA, and HIROTO, bassist DAICHI, and drummer HIDEHIRO appeared at Kishidan Banpaku 2024 that November, before two Christmas shows at Zepp Haneda. By 2026, TAKATORA had joined MiA and HIROTO in the three-guitar line-up as the band launched WORLD TOUR ATTACK OF YFCz in January, their first world tour in 15 years. The completed tour took in Yokohama, Mexico City, São Paulo, Santiago, Seoul, and Hong Kong. In September 2026, YFCz announced a return to Latin America in 2027, with shows planned in Brazil, Chile, and Mexico alongside their first appearance in Argentina.
