London based record label JPU Records announced yesterday that they’ll be releasing alt-rock allstars ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION’s best of album ‘BEST HIT AKG’ and 2015 LP ‘Wonder Future’ on November 6th, two days before the band hit London’s O2 Academy Islington for their 2nd UK performance as part of their EU tour.

ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION RETURN TO LONDON THIS NOVEMBER

AKFG have been at the forefront of Japan’s rock scene for the good part of a decade, and in recent years a figurehead of Japan’s NO NUKES movement. In 2003 they kicked off NANO-MUGEN, an annual music festival that has grown from a 2-stage party at a 550 cap venue, to the 17,000 cap Yokohama Arena in 2014 and playing host to national and international big-shots alike including BOOM BOOM SATELLITES, 9mm Parabellum Bullet, the HIATUS, as well as Ash, Stereophonics, WE ARE SCIENTISTS, and many more.

In 2012 their first compilation album ‘BEST HIT AKG’ hit the top of the Oricon album charts shifting over 150,000 copies, and is finally getting its UK/EU release alongside their latest chart topper ‘Wonder Future’ which was recorded at Foo Fighters’ Studio 606 earlier this year. Both albums come with an extra booklet of translated lyrics, and BEST HIT AKG comes with additional track-by-track comments from each member.
